Dried Fruit - Is It As Healthy As Fresh Fruit?

My family is not big on eating fresh fruit. When I buy fruit it usually spoils before we use it. I have been thinking about buying some dried fruit to throw in with cereal and various other foods. I thought this would be a way to get our fruit, and it would last a little longer. I have heard that sometimes when you freeze or cook a certain food it changes it's nutritional value. I was just wondering if anyone out there knows if the dried fruit is just as healthy as fresh fruit?

  1. Hey, if that is the ONLY way to get the kids to eat it, DO IT! Plus, it would be a MUCH healthier snack than fruit gummies or snack bars. It will get pricey though, you could dehydrate your own... and then you can have it fresh too if you want it. I think you can pick up a dehydrator around $60 these days at Walmart or Target.
